Kitchen Remodel

I decided it would be a good idea to remodel the kitchen. I also thought I was Bob Villa overnight and thought I could tile not only the backsplash, but the countertops in one weekend.

Needless to say, Tim talked me down and I ended up tiling the backsplash, with help from my Mom and Tim of course. It is amazing what a simple backsplash tile can do to improve your kitchen! I was so excited about it!

Then we added hardware on the cabinets and painted the walls. I decided purple was a wise choice. I would call is Eggplant. It's a dark cool purple. I was a little concered with it at first but I've grown to love it!

In two weeks my kitchen is finally almost finshed!

I will take some pics and post some before and afters soon!

NIkes and Oktoberfest

This weekend was not nearly as relaxing as I hoped it would be.

Friday night I made plans to hang out with my mom. That was actually very enjoyable. I got a cute purple skirt and a pair of black slacks.

Saturday...I raced around all day and got some new shoes, jewlery, and a top! I love the shopping with coupons. I had to go take advantage of the coups!!!

After shopping I rushed and got ready and headed to Oktoberfest at my bosses house. It was fun. We ate bratwurst with sourkraut, drank delicious german beer, ate cheese and pretzels and had a lot of fun. We were there way to late, but all in all I think it was worth it.

We missed out on the Dew Tour after party. I couldn't make it downtown because the work thing went so late. Oh well....

Sunday I did some laundry and worked on finishing cleaning out my Mom's garage...we still have a lot of work to do. Ugh. Next weekend's garage sale should be an overall success though, we have alot of stuff and most of it is worth quite a bit of money.
After the garage sale we'll be on our way up to the cabin for Valerie's birthday.

Busy Busy Busy...

After all the hoopla of the weekend, I am getting sick. I feel like I have a fever and my throat is on FIRE. Let's hope and pray I don't get sick shall we?

So on the radio this morning they were talking about celebs who were total jerks in person. They mentioned Bruce Willis and his band and plays in. I guess some Dad and his kid were in the venue they were playing in and talked to Demi and she was totally nice and told them to go say hi to Bruce. The Dad went over with his 8 year old kid and told Bruce he was a huge fan and asked for an autograph. Bruce said, "Ya know it's pretty sad that a man of your age needs an autograph".

Holy COW! Ya know it boggles my mind. Fans are the reason the celebs have all of the money and fame that they have. If it wern't for fans how would these people have any money. At the end of the day we're all human and it's important to realize the way you treat other people could impact them for the rest of thier lives. Treat other people the way you would want to be treated. I try to live by that and maybe the rest of the world should too!

Shopping and Partying that's what we do best...

I went to Spokane over the weekend to visit my besty. We had such a good time. It was a suprise visit! She never saw it coming. It was pretty fun to say the least. We spent our days shopping and our night's drinking.

Nate took us on the Lake cruise! It was very fun. We didn't even know we were going. During College everyone got to go with different frats and we never even got to go, well we got our chance. We drank the champagne and sat in the sun and got my high heel stuck in the dock.
There were 2 crises leaving at about the same time. One boat was pumpin jams and had a ton of deck room and tables and a younger crowd, the other boat had classical playing and the crowd's average age was about 65. Guess which boat we ended up on? The geezer one..yup.

Who even cares, we made the most of it. The houses are huge and all becuase one rich guy owns like the whole city. Yep.

After the cruise we made our way downtown so Mara could spin the wheel on her birthday at Fast Eddys. Which is a giant wheel of fortune type wheel on the wall and you get to spin it if it is your actual birthday. You can win bar money to spend at the bar. Needless to say we won $15 and used it all up. :) Good times!

The next day we slept in, ate b-fast, went shopping, went to Spagetti Factory and then played video games and drank champagne.

Friday we got ready, had breakfast, went shopping, got ready again, drank champage again, went to The Onion then out to the bars. Good stuff.

By Saturday, my liver was on crutches. It was pretty painful... my plane ride home consisted of me sitting in the middle seat of 3 and having a baby on either side of me. Exhausting! Luckily by the end of the flight they had fallen asleep, but c'mon flight attendents. Why would you do that to me?!!

Saturday night we raced out to Angie's wedding. That wedding was amazing! She looked like a princess, the setting was beautiful, the food was great and the weather cooperated. The only thing was it got a little dark there in the night time. The DJ lights were not bright enough to light up the whole lawn. They should have put extra twinkle lights up. Who would've known though. It was all fab!

I know they'll have a good time on their honeymoon.

I just really need to finish that video for Alyssa. Whew!

My life is CRAZY!

Weddinging

Hello World:

I went to Rob and Alyssa's wedding over the weekend. It was awesome! I am a mess at wedding, I can hardly know the people and it chokes me up. When I see two people I geniunely care about declare their love for eachother in front of all of thier loved ones...it gets me.

I filmed the ceremony and various other footage for them. I think it's going to take me hours to go through and edit, but it'll be well worth it. I think weddings are lovely. Two more to go to this year!

On another note, I think we've finally found an office to move into. It was one of the first ones Shannon and I hunted down. They decided to drop the price making it more affordable for us. Looks like we're moving. The place has Mocha walls and Mocha carpet...A whole lotta Mocha if you ask me.

I have the strong urge to get out of Dodge for Labor Day weekend. I'm thinking I need to take a mini vacay to the cabin. Who's in?

Gigglamesh

Today at lunch we had the most interesting experience:

Shan and I decide we'll hit up Artic Circle for lunch as we were both really wanting a cheeseburger and lime ricky. We were having a relatively stress free afternoon, we hit up best buy, looked at an office and had no complaints really.

The Artic Circle on 10600 S and Approximately 1400 W. apparently had some issues this afternoon. We walked in and there were about 5 guys in line all ordering shakes. Not too crazy. The girl taking orders had this remarkable blue eye shadow on which made me think she could have possibly applied it in the dark. She was sweet and really trying her best to excel at her job. While she was taking the shake orders a different girl walked in with her uniform and dropped it off at the office...was she quitting? Maybe; we'd later understand why.

Meanwhile; a girl in the office who was just ending her shift took it upon herself to call someone in tonight to cover a shift...clearly they were short staffed. I had taken my order by this point and was waiting for my card to come back to me. Suddenly, Shannon and I hear this yelling from an Asian woman saying, "We need the line!" "We need the line!" the blue eyeshadow girl was patient and said to the girl on the phone, "Uhm...get off the phone and waved my card in the air"...okay point taken.

She quickly gets off the phone. By this time the Asian Manager was running around barking orders at everyone including Shannon. Shannon had been waiting in line, while we waited a uptight Mormon couple were standing behind her practically breathing down her neck (that's annoying in itself) and giggles...which I'll explain was behind them. Shannon was starting to be stressed out by everything going on around us by the time she was ordering she was little flustered. The Asian Manager comes up and Shan starts to order..
"I'll have a Ranch Buge..."
"RANCH" "WHAT ELSE?"
"oh..uh an order of mini cor..."
"MINI CORN, WHAT ELSE?"
"a medium lime ricky"
"7.43, to STAY or GO"
"STAY OR GO!" (while tapping her card on the counter loudly)
"uhm..I don't know, Angie?! Stay or go?"
"Stay"
"to STAY!"

woah so we finish ordering and the Mormon's start to order....
Shannon and I are standing aside waiting for our drinks and order when it's now giggles turn to order.
Giggles is a completely normal looking guy in is 30s who is giggling loudly at things unknown to the rest of us. Giggles grabs the penny cup, you know, give a penny take a penny; he shakes it and looks at me and says, "There's actually pennies in there! That's hysterical!" I politely laugh and think....ok.....

We sit down and Shannon and I start to say how this lunch break is starting to really stress us out! Shannon might was well have given the mormon couple a piggy back ride to the counter they were so close to her and we now realize giggles has a giant scar across his head so clearly he'd been injured in the past...but giggles just kept on laughing.

We quickly ate and then we were getting up to leave and giggles was behind us...still giggling...and Shannon said,
"Dang it I spilled on myself"
Me-"You did?"
Shan-"Yep, Cuz I'm a pig"
-Giggles "(giggling) That's so funny what you just said that is why I'm giggling"

We politely laughed with him and left...

Woah..

As we got in the car we concluded, clearly Artic Circle needs to consider hiring more people and if we had a brain injury we would definitely want it to be similar to giggles because he was loving life! What a way to be; happy all of the time! You certainly can't complain about that, it could be alot worse. At least giggles helped us laugh off the awkward situation that Artic Circle and their staff put us through.

Crack Child

Shannon's new puppy is nicknamed Crack Child. I guess her baby puppy runs about chewing, eating and distroying toys...but she's a cuddle baby at night. :)

Puppies make me happy...and if puppies don't make you happy, something is terribly wrong with you.
Tim has to keep me far away from them becuase they are my weakness and I will purchase baby dogs.

Anyway, that's not even the reason for blogging right now, but I am very easliy distracted.

Rob and Alyssa's wedding is this weekend, I'm stoked for them. I get to film the ceremony and I'm nervous because if I screw this one up, it's on me! Luckily Camille will be helping me and If screw it up she'll be there to back me up. I'm excited for them and happy they are finally tieing the knot. :) Yay Weddings. After this one we have Angie and Nate and then Amanda and Eddy. Whew...Then I guess it'll be a race to baby makin.

Slash...can I just mention how excited I am for our cruise? WHEEW. I'll get the details posted and everyone is invited! EVERYONE! GIANT CRUISE!

Odessy 2011...that's what we're calling it. We're meaning me. :)

Welp. the end for now!

Rehersal Dinner tonight, Wedding and reception tomorrow!

WOAH!

Lightning in SLC

Last night there was the most amazing lightening storm, just after I watched Discovery Channel's special on lightening a few nights ago. I just love natural wonders, like tornados, lightening, floods, caves, arches, mountains all of that good stuff. I tell myself that my true calling in life was proabaly to be a weather girl. Salt Lake has enough weather that it could've kept me busy. I remember sitting around the table with my girlfriends in college and reporting the world weather to anyone who cared to listen. I used to make them guess where the world highs and lows were.
"The world high yesterday was in Death Valley at 114 degrees! The Low was in Moscow Russia at -12, remember that becuase tomorrow I will quiz you, if you know where the highs today were you can guess where they might be tomorrow!" I used to think everyone else cared as much about the weather as I did.
Too bad I was never too smart at Math or I could've become a meterologist like Dan Pope.

On a side note: Why is that everytime I send letters and have to lick the envelope I get a papercut on my lip!?

One more side note: Anyone have any good ideas for a life insurance postcard? What image would make you think about purchasing life insurance? Let me know.

Muska Muska Bread

This weekend we spent the weekend with Tim's Mom's side of the family for a family reunion. Her side of the family is Italian. They make this bread that is 5lbs of honey, flour and eggs and it's called Muska Muskoli or something like that, so I ended up calling it Muska Muska bread all weekend. It was entertaining, at least for me.

Friday night we went to a park and ate and played family reunion games. I had to moo like a cow and run with a ladel of water with a bunch of strangers I'd never met, but remarkably...I felt like family.

Saturday we went to St. Anns for a dinner, raffle, and dancing. We were in the gym and whoever was the brains behind setting it up for us left the thermostat on unoccupied and locked the box. Needless to say it was only about 10,000 degrees in there and the air was just as heavy. It felt like I was breathing someone else's garlic breath. I wanted out...I stuck it through and even though it went late, I guess it was worth it.

We woke up early Sunday morning to head out to Lagoon. For those of you who don't know what Lagoon is it's like a baby six flags. Rollercoasters, games, a waterpark...a theme park...you get it. Anyway we were die hard and got there when it opened and stayed til about 8:30 p.m. It was Italian Days at Lagoon so it was nice to drink beers and stuff. Tim had to enter a raffle for a wheel barrel filled with liqour (proabaly about 10-15 bottles). He was quite excited about that. "Think of what we could do with a Wheel-barrel filled with alcohol"

Lovely. . .

We had a good weekend overall, I guess I need to just try to be more outgoing. I felt as though I was left out alot...but, I could just have a complex.

Hurricanes and Baseball Games

No, I didn't get to drink a hurricane at a baseball game, I felt like there was a hurricane and so I didn't go to the baseball game. I dont know about you, but my idea of fun is not sitting around in Gail Force Winds watching some baseball...I'll wait it out and use my tickets on a day when I can drink beer and eat dogs the all-american way..not in a hurricane.

I did enjoy some mighty tasty burritos last night. Ya know, I don't know how I feel about the eating of the burritos, I proabaly should have ordered a salad, but honestly...who does that when you have the oppurtunity to eat delicious burritos (not to mention smothered with cheese) - Too bad they cost 20 bucks! -Damn La Puenta- I should've just gone to La Frontera like I originally wanted.

This weekend is the Corey Family Reunion. (That's my husband's mom's side of the family), we'll be attending various events throughout the weekend which mostly revolve around eating and drinking...can't complain I guess.

I feel the strong urge to go puppy hunting with Shannon and look for a new office...but I'm still sitting here in my ice box of an office.

Shannon has a complex today becuase Heather told her she smells bad...no shan...you don't smell like garlic.

Till Next time-

Welcome....

Hello All

If you're reading this I assume you're somewhat interested in what I have to say about life. I guess I should let you know what you're getting yourself into. I tend to be random. I write about things that pop into my mind at any given point in the day. I like to be opinionated, I will straight up tell you if something bothers me and how I feel about that.

I remember in my previous blog mentioning how pink and purple rhinestone camo on wide leg gangster jeans are NOT cool...Seriously...WTF.

I'll update frequently and sparatically. I'm new to this Blogger website, I used to use Blurty.com so we'll see how it goes. I like the fact that I can post from my phone as well. As far as having to use gmail, we'll get used to it I guess.

I guess for now that's all I have; However, let me say this:

My morning was interesting because not only did twitter go down during what I consider crucial 'tweeting' moments, but my facebook wouldn't let me in and my backspace wasn't working. Luckily I held strong and made it through. Thanks to Shannon who coached me through it and she was right, "Everything was fine".

Technology is slowly taking over my life.
Til next time.......
